Penguins Frontline

We’re getting closer and closer to the cancellation of the entire NHL season. It’s hard to imagine that we’ve come this close to the precipice but here we are. In order to brighten the mood of all you fantasy hockey fans out there we’re going to talk about the best offensive team in all of hockey; the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Penguins front line is easily the best in fantasy hockey as well. Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby are both top five players overall in fantasy hockey and having both of them on the same team is mind blowing. Crosby seems to be fully recovered from the concussions he suffered in previous years and Malkin has just entered his prime so the window is wide open for the Penguins to dominate the league.

Of course it’s not just Malkin and Crosby in Pittsburgh. James Neal has developed very nicely as a formidable presence on the perimeter for the Penguins. Last year when Crosby was out Neal and Malkin were this team’s primary scorers and that worked out pretty well. So we know that Neal is capable of playing next to a superstar and being productive without a doubt. He also gets a massive amount of penalty minutes for a forward which is a serious plus. Neal isn’t a first rounder like the other two but he is a player that should go in the early rounds of your fantasy hockey draft. Expect him to go somewhere around the third or fourth round in standard sized leagues. Not long after him Chris Kunitz should go in the sixth to eighth round. Kunitz doesn’t have a very high ceiling but he can still get things done as a fantasy hockey starter in most leagues. There are other Pittsburgh forwards you might want to watch but these four are the best and they should all go fairly early in your fantasy hockey drafts.
